UCC-128

A barcode label format used to identify shipping cartons and pallets, encoding the SSCC (Serial Shipping Container Code).

In practice

Retailers require UCC-128 labels on every shipped carton with the SSCC matching what was declared in the ASN. Mismatches cause receipt failures.

Why it matters

Wrong UCC-128 labels are a top-five chargeback cause across grocery, big-box, and foodservice.

How Sable handles it

Sable generates UCC-128 SSCC values and validates their presence in the ASN before transmission.
